Saint Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church is on Howard Street of Springfield (near Water Street).
It is from March 9 1873 (first mass) . Patrick Keely designed this church. Louis Gagnier was the founder and the first pastor. The home of Caleb Rice was used as a rectory. This was 73 Howard. The school was to the left back and opened in 1897.
