Saint Anthony of Padua Churchyard
Saint Anthony of Padua Churchyard is on Nye Street in New Bedford. It has one burial there and that is of the first priest of the Saint Anthony of Padua Church – Hormidas Deslauriers. The gravestone is surrounded by an iron fence and hence a close up of the stone is hard to obtain. Painting seen on this page was done by my grandfather Laurent Comeau.
Rev Father Hormidas Deslauriers died in 1916 of heart problems – FINDAGRAVE – First pastor of the Saint Anthony of Padua Church in New Bedford. Died in the rectory after a month long struggle with heart problems. He was buried in the churchyard with an iron fence surrounding him.
