National Guard Armory of Holyoke

The National Guard Armory on Sargeant Street was dedicated on May 1 1907. In 1906 the armory was constructed off of the plan of William Howe. The armory functioned as such from 1906 to 1992. It served the Massachusetts Army National Guard – 1st Battalion – 104th Infantry – Company D. The armory was built off of funds from the government of Holyoke and some from the state.

The National Guard Armory of Holyoke has the Spanish American War deaths from Holyoke on a plaque. Read about these men HERE. One plaque has names of administrators and politicians and the other plaque has names of the veterans of the war that were from Holyoke.
