There was a burial ground at the Meeting House in the center of the town from 1658 to 1663. There were about 10 burials there. In 1680 these were moved to the Bridge Street Cemetery. The Bridge Street Cemetery was formed in 1662 at the present location. The cemetery is part of the Pomeroy Terrace Historic District. Historic Northampton has a wonderful story and resources.
