Holyoke Wire Cloth Company
The Holyoke Wire Clothes was at firm at the southwest end of the Third Canal.
Masonic Hall
The Masonic Hall at 278 to 282 High Street is still there but in lowered form. It once was 4 floors but now is one. Before the Masons built here it was called the Allyn’s Block.
In 1922, it is still the Masonic Hall but also the American Legion is here.

Dean Brothers Block
At 320-322 High Street is a fairly ordinary building. It is built in 1890 and is called the Dean Brothers Block.

The Reliance Fire Station has been on two locations in Holyoke but both are now gone. Both stations will be written about here.

Central Fire Station
The Central Fire Station is on Maple Street.
The Holyoke Fire Central Station (206 Maple Street) was at that location for many decades. It is the second of three central fire station in Holyoke. As the force became motorized it needed a better station and hence this one was made. There are three phases of the fire fighting department in Holyoke. The first wave was that equipment was stored in sheds and the force was small. The second wave was stations around the city including this one and the Emerald Fire Station on Chestnut Street. The third wave is the modern one.
