Polish Center for Discovery and Learning is at External LINK and is on the grounds of the Holy Name of Jesus campus in Chicopee.

The rectory is now the Polish Center for Discovery and Learning.

The rectory was made in 1857 for the pastor. It is in the Second Empire architectural style. In 1868 the roof was raised to make it a two story building.

Berchams Hall is a 1932 a Donahue design.

They were in Holyoke from 1941 to 1953. They must have been in one of the large Farr Alpaca mills. The Sanborn map of 1949 does NOT show them there.

Gravestone at the Old South Hadley Burial Ground

John Preston died in 1728. His family refused to have him moved since he was the first settler of the town and the first burial. Thus he is still here in back of the Gaylord Library.

Holy Name of Jesus Churchyard

Patrick Healy was the third pastor of this parish.

He is buried in the churchyard. His FINDAGRAVE page has much information for you. Usually only the first and perhaps the second pastor of a church are buried alongside the founding church. He is neither but what he did was found the first Catholic school in Central or Western Massachusetts. Thus he is buried alongside that school.
