Brookside Cemetery was constructed in April 1874 and ready in May of that year. The architect was Ernest William Bowditch. Only one burial before July of that year. Wilfred Nevins from 4 Nov 1874 is NOT the first burial in this cemetery but rather is a cenotaph. – FINDAGRAVE Louise Roehnig from 9 days later might be the first burial. – FINDAGRAVE The Oscar Ward house at 66 Williston Avenue is from 1879. It was the first in this area. The building of a bridge over the dam of Wilton Pond allowed for the development of this cemetery and then this area became a new residential area.
