New Intake Reservoir

The New Intake Reservoir in Southampton was built in 1917 to hold the waters of the Manhan River. Its dam is called the Manhan Dam. Both are still there and functional. The pipeline in and out is a 20 inch line. By adding the New Intake Reservoir into the arrangement more of the White Reservoir water is available and the efficiency of the pipeline is greater.

The New Intake Reservoir was 63 feet higher than Fomer Reservoir. For reference it is 71 feet higher than McLean (High Service) Reservoir.
