

The Whiting Paper Mill number 1 was built on the start of the First Level Canal just south of the Parsons Paper Mill. William Whiting built it in 1864. He had his start at the Holyoke Paper Mill.
Whiting Paper Mill number 2 was built farther along the First Level Canal. It was on the northern side of Dwight Street between the First and Second Level Canals.
