Mill number 1 is from 1837 and mill number 2 is from 1845.




Forbes Library was dedicated in 1894. It was designed by William Brocklesby in the Richardsonian Romanesque style. This style stresses deep windows and dark colors. This designer also did the Academy of Music.

Blessed Sacrament Roman Catholic Church is from 1900 as the cornerstone states. Work started in 1899. The church is at 344 A Elm Street and later is listed as 354 Elm. The rectory is at 336 Elm Street.

The Saint Mary’s Church that existed now was completed in 1881 and the rectory in 1888. The older church was made in 1844 on King Street. It was a mission church of the Saint Matthew Church in Springfield/Chicopee and then the Holy Name Church in Chicopee. The cemetery of the church is at LINK.

Saint John the Apostle Church was started in 1915 as the first Catholic church in Hadley. Before that the Catholics of Hadley had to attend the Saint Brigid’s Church of Amherst. They existed as a mission church of that latter church from 1902 to 1915.
