Immaculate Conception Churchyard
This is the burial location of Jeremiah Twomey. He was buried here in 1873.

African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church was organized in 1902. In 1904 they are meeting at the GAR Hall at 245 Main Street.
Second Methodist Episcopal Church was started in 1865. They were at the corner of Main and Pine Streets in Florence in at least 1904. In 1933 they were at 24 Meadow Street in Florence. From at least 1934 to 1950 they were at 18 Meadow Street in Florence.
Willimansett Falls Canal was built on the eastern bank of the Connecticut River in 1796. It was not a success and thus a channel was built along the western bank of the Connecticut and horses were used to pull the boats upstream.
