Temple Beth El

Temple Beth El has its cemetery in West Springfield. FINDAGRAVE The cemetery has its own page on my site LINK.

Temple Beth El has a web site EXTERNAL LINK. Their history is very well explained at the same page EXTERNAL LINK. Their organization started in 1913. The first building that they made was in 1918 at 150 Fort Pleasant Avenue. The Forest Park Hebrew School was close by. In 1937 the United Hebrew School was made on Oakland Street.

A new temple was built in 1953 on Dickinson Street but it had a severe fire and another one was made in 1968.

Northampton Unitarian Church

Northampton Unitarian Church is from 1904. The congregation was formed in 1825 and built a Greek Revival church at this site. Fire struck in 1903 and this present structure was built. As a temporary location in 1904 they were at the high school assembly hall. The congregation called their church the Second Congregational Church and had unitarian beliefs. The Free Congregational Society of Florence was also Unitarian and joined with the Northampton Unitarian Church at some point.
