Cherry Lane Cemetery

Cherry Lane Cemetery is from 1826. Its location is Cherry Street off of Central Street. Established January 10 1826 by the First Baptist Society of Springfield in Memory of Those Who Died in the Revolutionary and Civil Wars. The land was donated by John Ashley FINDAGRAVE. The Baptist Chapel was at the southeast corner of Cherry Lane and Central. It is no longer there. In 1832 a new chapel was made at the corner of Maple and Mulberry Streets. The old chapel was turned into a house but it is now long gone.
